film review-resident evil:apocalypse

November 17, 2006

genre:action/horror

BOOM! bright whit lights suddenly turn on, the scene is set in a perfect white laboratory, and on the operating table alice awakens from her slumber only to find herself cold, alone and small tubes connecting out of her. She rises, pulls the tubes from her body, breaks the lock on the door and escapes to a near-deserted street laden with bodys

Resident evil apocalypse tells the story of alice and her struggle to escape raccoon city and its ex-inhabitants. The hive-which is an underground loboratory developing new viruses and diseases- goes crazy and all the employees are killed by a gas calles the T-virus. to put it simply, the T-virus turns them into mindless flesh-eating zombies (such an original!) But when the hive is opened and “they” get out, all hell breaks loose.

Basically in the end alice fights a super monster created by the hive and escapes. MIlla jovovich plays the roll of alice and really breaks the steriotype  “punch like a girl” saying, it also stars Oded Fehr (the mummy returns) as the special forces officer left by his own men and forced to tag along with alice, playing the roll of the “nice guy/ass kicking hero”. My opinion about it all is put plain and simple (complete masterpeice) although this movie carries on the big “aarrrr! brains!” zombie thing, it actually has a plot and at least a plausible reason why they are even zombies in the first place, Plus the camera work was impecable and made sure it was always getting the best shot at all times. But this can only be topped by the supreme acting of milla jovovich (alice) and Oded Fehr.

All in all this movie is perfect for all you horror/action/sci-fi freaks out there, it combines the gorey, blood spurting stuff from those mindless horror movies with the action of even the worst arnie movie.
